The Auckland Libraries app is available on Android (version 7 and up) and iOS devices (iOS version 14 and up).

You can use the Auckland Libraries app to:

• Use a digital version of your library card barcode to check out items 
  
• Search the library catalogue and request books, eBooks, audiobooks, CDs, DVDs and more 
  
• See in-app notifications for overdue books and when your holds are ready for pick-up 
  
• Opt in to see push notifications for library closures, news and special announcements.
  
• See which shelf number your holds are on
  
• Check your account and manage checkouts, holds and renewals 
  
• Link and manage multiple library accounts 
• Browse and access eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eNewspapers and streaming films 
• Find your nearest library or scroll through a full list of our library locations 
• Scan any book's ISBN barcode to see if the library has a copy 
• Create ‘My lists’ to compile your own personalised book lists
  
• Log and track your reading progress over time   
  
• Explore our extensive online resources for learning and research
• Connect with us via email, social media, phone and more.

Our new self-service feature allows you to check out physical library items on your phone.

To access this feature, you’ll need:

• NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled
  
• Location Services enabled
  
• Android (v5 or higher) or iOS (v13 or higher).

The self-service feature is currently available at Botany Library, Central City Library, Mt Roskill Library, Takapuna Library and Te Manawa. Our friendly staff at these libraries can help you get started.
